Bliss 'Glamour Gloves' Review

OK, so we all know we've got to take care of ourselves, our body is a temple and all that... But despite the amount of money and time we dedicate to taking care of our faces and bodies, out hands often get neglected. And let's be honest, they're one of the first places to show signs of age and improper care - think Madonna *shudders* Well, not any more! A couple of weeks ago I tottered down to the Bliss shop, hefty sum of money in tow and came home with these bad boys.

Bliss 'Glove' and Care Softening Gloves

When I first saw these online I nearly keeled over just looking at the price *ahem* £36, especially when you can easily pick up a pair of cotton gloves for a quid nowadays that seem to do the same job. But, and this is a big but, these are unlike any other 'moisturising glove' I've tried (or even seen) before. In fact, I'd go as far to say that they are revolutionary! How are they different? What makes them so special? I hear you ask. Well, have you ever found that you'll slather on loads of lovely hand cream, put on your cotton gloves and it almost seems that either 1.) the process of putting on the gloves has removed most to all of the hand cream or 2.) the gloves themselves seem to soak up the moisturiser (rather than your hands!) Well, this seemed to be happening to me for quite some time (and I almost thought moisturising gloves just weren't for me), but then I saw these beauties. Inside the actual gloves is a thin layer of a gel like substance (according to Bliss it's called a 'polymer gel lining' that's comprised of a few moisturising oils) - this is what makes them so special. As well as the actual gel moisturising your hands (Bliss even recommends wearing these without hand cream if you want to), it also stops the glove from absorbing the moisturiser = baby soft hands by morning!

Polymer gel lining containing mineral oil, jojoba oil, grape seed oil (amongst other ingredients)

The million dollar question: are these worth it? Yes! They're absolutely brilliant, and I am a hard one to please. They're probably not going to change your life or anything, but they've certainly made my hands much happier!

I'd also like to point out that, even though I know it's particularly juvenile, I love the fact that these gloves are pink! They also do a regular blue version, but the ones I have are a limited edition pair (still available I believe, go now! Run!) in support of Breast Cancer Care - which is bloody brilliant (their support I mean, not breast cancer...) Bliss have promised to donate £5000 to Breast Cancer Care, so go get some now (and report back)! I mean, it would be rude not too...

What do you do to care for your hands? I'll admit I'm a bit lazy. Let me know!
